Dr. Tim Zhou is a Lecturer in Accounting and Finance at the School of Management, Swansea University. He joined in 2013 after working at Nationwide Building Society, Bangor University, and the University of Sunderland. His research focuses on bank mergers, banking regulation, and crisis management, with publications in journals like the European Journal of Finance and Journal of International Money and Finance. One of his papers was presented at the Bank of England.
He serves as a referee for journals including Journal of Banking and Finance. His research highlights include analyzing failed bank auctions, depositor discipline, and systemic risk in banking. He has supervised a PhD student on corporate narrative readability and teaches modules on investment banking, risk management, and international banking regulation.
Key projects include a 2017 initiative to strengthen higher education through financial tools. His work bridges academic research with practical regulatory and market dynamics in the financial sector.
