Tim Pfitzner is an Associate Lecturer (Education Focused) in the Department of Economics Finance & Marketing at RMIT University. He also serves as Manager of the RMIT Trading Facility in Melbourne. With over 30 years of industry experience, he has held roles including Senior Manager at National Australia Bank (1987–2015) and Industry Fellow at Monash University (2017–2021). His research focuses on banking, financial markets, risk management, and the application of gamification and laboratory simulations in education.
Teaching responsibilities include courses on Money and Debt Markets, Global Markets, and Banking and Financial Institutions. He advocates for innovative pedagogic approaches to enhance learning outcomes. Tim is open to collaborative projects, industry partnerships, and advisory roles.
His professional interests intersect financial technology, credit policy development, and educational methodologies. He holds an ORCID identifier (0000-0001-9584-2427) and contributes to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education.
