Tim Woodman is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Life Sciences at the University of Bath. His research focuses on NMR spectroscopy applications in medicinal chemistry, particularly targeting prostate cancer through α-methylacyl-CoA racemase (AMACR) inhibition. He coordinates skin pharmacokinetics research using stimulated Raman microscopy.
Woodman's work bridges analytical chemistry and drug development, with projects on novel anticancer agents and topical drug delivery systems. His group develops synthetic methodologies for antimicrobial polyamines and studies enzyme mechanisms using NMR techniques.
He contributes to the Material and Chemical Characterisation facility and has received funding from Prostate Cancer UK and Wellcome Trust for NMR instrumentation. Current EPSRC projects focus on enhancing NMR capabilities for biological research.
Woodman teaches medicinal chemistry and supervises projects on pharmaceutical analysis. He serves on committees for the European Society of Applied Biocatalysis and maintains collaborations with international research groups.
