معرفی
Dr. Tim Smith is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Computer Science and Engineering, Bangor University. He holds an honorary position as Research Fellow at the University of Manchester until 2026. His primary research integrates computer science with medical applications, focusing on radiochemistry, radionuclide modelling, and radiobiology.
His research interests include:
- Development of biomarkers for cancer therapy response prediction
- Radionuclide treatment mechanisms and modelling
- Tumor hypoxia detection and characterization
- Novel therapeutic approaches for bladder, prostate, and breast cancers
- CRISPR-Cas9 applications in oncology target identification
Dr. Smith's recent publications (2021-2024) demonstrate a strong focus on translational oncology, with consistent themes in radionuclide therapy, hypoxia biomarkers, and molecular targeting. His work frequently utilizes advanced technologies including CRISPR screening, nanoparticle delivery systems, and multi-platform genomic analysis to address treatment resistance in urological and breast cancers.
He actively contributes to academic service as an external examiner for postgraduate degrees and regularly delivers invited lectures on nuclear medicine topics. Dr. Smith is currently accepting PhD students for projects in radiochemistry, radionuclide modelling, and radiobiology.
