Tim Slack is Professor of Sociology at LSU, researching spatial dimensions of inequality including rural poverty, disaster vulnerability, and informal economies. His recent work examines livelihood strategies in marginalized communities and regional recovery patterns post-disaster.
Funded by NSF and USDA, his projects document household coping mechanisms following events like the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. He teaches courses on poverty, rural sociology, and social stratification.
