معرفی
Tim Regan is a Career Track Fellow at The Roslin Institute, University of Edinburgh, within the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies and Division of Translational Bioscience (Aquaculture group). He leads an independent research program focused on invertebrate aquaculture immunology since 2023.
His educational background includes:
- Undergraduate: Biochemistry with Immunology, Trinity College Dublin (2005-2009)
- PhD: Inflammatory Homeostasis in the Human Gastrointestinal Tract, University College Cork (2009-2014)
Dr. Regan's research centers on blue mussel immunology in commercial aquaculture contexts, investigating host-microbiome-environment interactions through molecular biology and multi-omics approaches. His work addresses industry-relevant disease challenges while advancing fundamental understanding of invertebrate immune systems, reflecting the Roslin Institute's One Health ethos.
His scientific awards include the Career Track Fellowship (2023), recognizing his transition to independent research leadership. Prior roles at The Roslin Institute comprised:
- Postdoctoral research in immunopsychiatry, honey bee metagenomics, and CRISPR screening (2014-2019)
- Core scientist position developing bivalve research partnerships with government and industry (2019-2023)
Dr. Regan maintains strong industry engagement through stakeholder collaborations while pursuing fundamental questions in invertebrate immunity. His lab integrates wet-lab techniques with computational approaches, building on expertise developed across diverse biological systems from human gastrointestinal tract to honey bees before specializing in aquaculture species.
