Tim Kobza is an Assistant Professor of Practice in the Popular Music Program at the Thornton School of Music, University of Southern California. A Los Angeles-based guitarist, recording artist, and music producer, he actively engages in performance, composition, teaching, and industry mentorship.

- Master's Degree in Studio/Jazz Guitar Performance from USC Thornton School of Music
- Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Guitar Performance from the University of North Texas

Professor Kobza's expertise spans rock, jazz, blues, R&B, and electronic sound design with emphasis on studio guitar techniques and industry-ready music creation. His work integrates practical performance skills with modern production methods, reflected in over 900 ASCAP-registered compositions and 25+ TV/film credits including The Office and Desperate Housewives. He develops curricula that bridge academic training with real-world music industry demands.
