Tim Jardine is an Associate Professor at the School of Environment and Sustainability (SENS) and member of the Toxicology Centre at the University of Saskatchewan. His research focuses on river deltas as complex social-ecological systems, freshwater food webs, contaminant biomagnification, and tropical floodplain hydrology. He holds a PhD in Biology from the University of New Brunswick, with prior degrees from the same institution and Dalhousie University.
Key research interests include applying stable isotope analysis to ecological questions, understanding land-water connectivity, and studying the impacts of large dams on downstream wetlands. His work integrates basic ecology with practical stewardship strategies for aquatic resources.
Current lab members include MSc and PhD candidates investigating topics ranging from contaminant dynamics to river management. The Aquatic Food Webs Lab collaborates with institutions across Canada and internationally through initiatives like the Global Institute for Water Security.
His publications emphasize ecosystem connectivity, trophic magnification of chemicals, and methodological advancements in isotope analysis. Research outcomes aim to inform environmental policy and community engagement in sustainable resource management.
