Tim Glawion

Dr. Tim Glawion is an Associate Research Fellow at the German Institute for Global and Area Studies (GIGA) Institute for African Studies, with a focus on security dynamics in areas of limited statehood. He serves as co-editor of Africa Spectrum since 2022 and has held research roles at institutions including the Heidelberg Institute for International Conflict Research and the GIGA Institute for African Studies. His research spans the Central African Republic, Lebanon, and the Horn of Africa, examining hybrid security governance and paradoxes of state-building.
