Tim Evans-Jones

Tim Evans-Jones is a Professor of Vocal Studies at the Royal College of Music, specializing in vocal performance and opera. He has been a member of the teaching staff since 2008 and is affiliated with the Vocal & Opera department.

Professor Evans-Jones maintains an active performance career as a distinguished tenor, having sung major roles with British opera companies and toured internationally to the USA, Europe, and the Far East. His repertoire includes Tamino in The Magic Flute, Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni, Fenton in Falstaff, Learte in Hamlet, Werther in Werther, and Rinnucio in Gianni Schicchi. He has performed internationally as Alfredo in La Traviata in France and Portugal, and throughout the UK as José in Carmen and Pinkerton in Madam Butterfly.

As an educator, Professor Evans-Jones has mentored numerous successful students who have won prestigious competitions including the Kathleen Ferrier Competition, the Royal Over-Seas League, the Handel Singing Competition, and The Grange Festival International Singing Competition. His pupils regularly secure representation with major opera agents and gain placements at Opera Schools and the National Opera Studio. Many have progressed to become principal singers at major international opera houses including those in Paris, Cologne, Munich, Zurich, Düsseldorf, Strasbourg, Glyndebourne, and the Royal Opera, as well as all UK National Opera Houses.

Professor Evans-Jones is also active on the concert platform, having performed at venues including the National Concert Hall in Dublin, Royal Festival Hall, and Queen Elizabeth Hall. His concert engagements across the UK include nationwide tours of Viennese arias and duets as well as Italian songs and arias with the Locrian Ensemble.
