Professor Tim Edwards is Dean and Head of School at Cardiff Business School, where he previously served as Pro-Dean Research, Impact and Innovation. His research focuses on organizational and institutional change, critical management theory, and entrepreneurship with human reflexivity. He co-founded the Digital Transformation Innovation Institute and champions public value strategy and triple crown accreditation.

His research spans four major themes: organizational change, critical realist ontology, entrepreneurship, and citizen science. This extends earlier work with computer science colleagues on IT solutions for water repair projects in Eritrea.
The 15 most recent publications (2015–2025) demonstrate a focus on institutional theory, critical realism, ICT in public administration, and reflexive leadership, with interdisciplinary applications in sustainability, health, and entrepreneurship.

As a supervisor, he leads four PhD students exploring topics like AI in workplace freedom and neuroscience translation. His career includes research sabbaticals at the University of Alberta (2007) and UC Davis (2016), and collaborations with institutions in Grenoble, Brazil, and Kobe University.
