Tim Dornemann is an Associate Professor of Exercise Science and Director of the MS-HPSS Program at North Carolina Wesleyan University, where he joined in fall 2023. His expertise spans strength and conditioning, athletic performance enhancement, and character development integration in sports training.
Education:
- Ed.D. in Sports Management (emphasis: Sports Fitness and Health; specialization: Leadership) from the United States Sports Academy
- Master of Arts in Exercise Physiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
- Bachelor of Science from Rockford University
Research Focus: Dr. Dornemann pioneers holistic athletic development through evidence-based methodologies like the PowerRev system, which combines physical training with character-building principles. His work bridges sports science and life skills development, emphasizing vibration training techniques and youth athletic programming to create "total athletes" capable of excelling both competitively and personally.
Professional Leadership: He directs the MS-HPSS Program while serving on the Council on Accreditation of Strength and Conditioning Education standards committee. Through Sports Performance Sciences (SPS), he develops international performance programs for entities like the Philippine Olympic Committee and India national wrestling team, extending his academic impact into global sports communities.
