Tim Bowman serves as Professor of History in the Department of History at West Texas A&M University's Sybil B. Harrington College of Fine Arts and Humanities, where he has taught since fall 2012.
He earned his bachelor's degree from Texas Christian University (2002), master's degree from the University of Texas at Arlington (2005), and Ph.D. from Southern Methodist University (2011).
Dr. Bowman's research focuses on Mexican-American historical dynamics, specializing in 19th-20th century Mexican-Anglo relations, U.S.-Mexico border evolution, migrant labor systems, and Mexican-American community experiences. His current book project examines the Texas Farmworkers movement (1960s-1980s), analyzing labor activism's intersection with civil rights in the Southwest agricultural sector. His scholarship bridges regional history with transnational migration studies and social justice movements.
He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses covering North American Southwest history and modern United States historical developments.
