Tilman Schildhauer

Dr. Tilman Schildhauer is a Senior Scientist at the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) in Switzerland, affiliated with the Laboratory for Sustainable Energy Carriers & Processes. He has held leadership roles in Swiss IEA Bioenergy Task 44 and coordinated the Energy System Integration platform ESI.

• Education: PhD in Chemical Engineering (ETH Zürich, 2001), Diploma in Chemical Engineering (University of Dortmund, 1996).

Research Interests: Focus on thermochemical processes for energy storage and biomass conversion, including methanation for synthetic natural gas (SNG) and Power-to-Gas, methanol synthesis, fluidized bed hydrodynamics, gas cleaning, process chain analysis, heat/mass transfer in reactors, and multifunctional reactor design.
