Dr. Tilman Musch is an Associate Professor in Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Bayreuth, affiliated with the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. He leads the Gerda Henkel Foundation-funded research project ‘Saharagärten’ focusing on sustainable agroforestry in the Central Sahara. His work integrates spatial anthropology, nomadism studies, and environmental adaptation across West/Central Africa and Siberia. He holds a doctorate from INALCO Paris (2007) and has conducted extensive fieldwork in Niger, Chad, and Kyrgyzstan.

He publishes widely in interdisciplinary journals like Anthropos, Paideuma, and Journal of Global Archaeology.
