Tilly Robinson-Miles is a Research Fellow at the University of Edinburgh, leading partner and stakeholder engagement for the interdisciplinary Living Good Food Nation Lab. Her work focuses on food systems transformation, particularly through collaboration with Scottish health boards, local authorities, and civil society organizations to advance the Good Food Nation (Scotland) Act.
- Education: Master of Science (MSc) in Food Security and Food Justice.
Her research interests intersect geography, social science, and public health, emphasizing health inequalities, community food systems, older people's food security and malnutrition, and the social model of health. She has pioneered screening and training programs to address malnutrition among older adults, contributing to the establishment of a Scottish Short Life Working Group on Malnutrition.
As an expert witness to the Scottish Parliament and a key advocate for the Good Food Nation Act, she has influenced legislative amendments on mental wellbeing, social care recognition, and the creation of an independent Food Commission. Her work spans academia, policy, and grassroots initiatives, including a significant role in the UK-wide response to food access during the Covid-19 pandemic.
