Tillman Claus

Tillman Claus is a Researcher at the Department of Sociology within the Faculty of Social Sciences, Economics, and Business Administration at the University of Bamberg. He works under the Chair of Sociology with special emphasis on Social Inequalities, investigating critical societal issues through empirical analysis.

• Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Politics (2019-2023) at Berlin University of Applied Sciences
• Master of Science in Sociology with focus on Quantitative Analysis and Social Data Science (2023-2024) at Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium

His research centers on social stratification dynamics, particularly examining how rising retirement ages exacerbate health and socioeconomic disparities. Utilizing advanced quantitative methodologies and social data science techniques, he analyzes longitudinal datasets to uncover mechanisms driving inequality in aging populations. His work bridges demographic transitions with welfare state policies, emphasizing empirical rigor in assessing policy impacts on vulnerable groups.

Currently engaged in the GeReAlt project funded by the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, he contributes to understanding retirement policy implications. He is also affiliated with KLUG - German Alliance for Climate Change and Health, connecting social inequality research with environmental health determinants.
