Tiffany Green is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Population Health Sciences and Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She serves as the Training Hub Advisor for CORE (Center for Outcomes Research in Equity) and has led multiple NIH-funded research projects examining reproductive health disparities, including studies on abortion access, contraceptive care, and state-level policy impacts on marginalized communities.
Dr. Green's research centers on reproductive health equity with a sharp focus on racial and ethnic disparities in abortion access, contraceptive utilization, and maternal outcomes. Her interdisciplinary approach integrates health economics, epidemiology, and policy analysis to investigate how structural racism, economic shocks, and discriminatory practices shape health inequities. She employs causal inference methods and large-scale dataset analysis to evaluate the real-world impacts of legislation like abortion bans and Medicaid policies on Black, immigrant, and low-income populations.
Analysis of her recent publications (2023-2025) reveals a dominant focus on the cascading effects of abortion restrictions, with rigorous examinations of how state bans disproportionately impact Black communities through reduced access to care and worsened birth outcomes. Her work increasingly incorporates innovative methodologies including equitable AI development in obstetrics, causal analysis of residential segregation on infant health, and intersectional studies of economic support programs like the Child Tax Credit during crises.
As Principal Investigator for projects including What Factors Shape Black People’s Revealed Abortion Method Preferences? and studies on counseling/waiting period impacts, Dr. Green secures significant research funding while mentoring trainees through CORE’s Training Hub. Her grant portfolio demonstrates consistent NIH support for community-engaged research addressing systemic barriers to reproductive care.
She actively collaborates with community organizations through CORE to translate research into policy action, emphasizing participatory approaches that center lived experiences of marginalized populations in developing evidence-based reproductive health solutions.
