Tianyi Long is a Senior Lecturer (Research Active) in Management at the School of Business and Accounting, Faculty of Arts and Society, Charles Darwin University. He is a full-time academic staff member actively contributing to research, teaching, and editorial services in the field of Human Resource Management. He previously taught at the University of Western Australia and Monash University, demonstrating broad academic engagement.

His work often intersects with construction industry safety, team dynamics, and occupational identity.
The recent publication trends show a strong focus on AI-HRM integration, mindfulness in teams, employee resilience, and safety behavior in high-risk industries. His research combines theoretical models like Conservation of Resources and Social Identity Theory with empirical studies across diverse sectors.

Tianyi Long serves as Associate Editor for Human Resource Development Quarterly and is on the editorial board of Journal of Management and Organization. He regularly reviews for top-tier journals including Journal of Management Studies, Human Resource Management Journal, and IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management. He supervises HDR students (Honours, Master of Research, PhD) at Charles Darwin University. His research is aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those related to decent work and economic growth.
He teaches courses such as Resilience Management and Leadership at CDU, and previously coordinated HR analytics and introductory HRM units at UWA. His teaching has received high evaluation scores, reflecting his effectiveness as an educator.
