Ms. Tianwen Han serves as an Instructor of Chinese in the Department of Modern Languages at the University of Mississippi, located in the College of Liberal Arts. Research Interests: Ms. Han’s expertise centers on Chinese language education, with a focus on pedagogical methodologies, cultural competency development, and program design for foreign language learners. She emphasizes practical application in teaching, particularly through media and broadcast news analysis in advanced courses like Media Chinese II: Broadcast News.
Teaching Experience: Prior to her current position, she taught at the University of Virginia-in-Shanghai Program, Williams College, Middlebury College's Summer Chinese School, and Bowdoin College. At UM, she instructs courses such as Elementary Chinese I and II, Intensive Chinese I-IV, and specialized media-focused classes.
Labs/Teams: She is affiliated with the Chinese Language Flagship Program, an initiative dedicated to producing advanced Chinese proficiency speakers through immersive and rigorous instruction.
