معرفی
Dr. Tian-Yi Zhou serves as a Research Fellow at Columbia University's Data Science Institute within the DSI Postdoctoral Fellows Program (8th cohort), commencing her appointment in July 2025. Her academic journey includes a Ph.D. in Machine Learning from Georgia Institute of Technology's School of Industrial and Systems Engineering and a first-class honors B.Sc. in Statistics from the University of Hong Kong.
Her research program centers on theoretical machine learning, specifically the statistical and computational underpinnings of deep learning architectures. Recently, she has expanded her investigations into cybersecurity applications, focusing on network intrusion detection systems. Collaborating with Professors Qiang Du and Samory Kpotufe, she pioneers theoretically-grounded learning operator frameworks for meta-learning and security anomaly detection.
Key research domains encompass:
- Machine Learning
- Deep Learning Theory
- Statistical Learning
- Cybersecurity
- Network Security
- Anomaly Detection
As an integral member of Columbia's Data Science Institute, Dr. Zhou contributes to cutting-edge interdisciplinary research at the intersection of artificial intelligence and information security, with future work emphasizing theoretically governed frameworks for security-critical AI applications.
