Thy Phu is a Professor and Acting Vice-Dean, Graduate at the University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC), where she also serves as Chair of the Department of Arts, Culture and Media. She holds the distinguished title of Distinguished Professor of Race, Diaspora, and Visual Justice at the University of Toronto, reflecting her leadership in critical visual studies and social justice scholarship.

Thy Phu co-directs the community-engaged Refugee States project, a collaborative initiative that works with community organizations to document and preserve refugee and migrant narratives through a critical, intersectional lens.
