Thushara Abeyweera

Thushara Abeyweera is a Doctoral Lecturer in the Chemistry Department at York College, City University of New York. He holds a PhD in Biochemistry (2007) from CUNY, an MPhil in Biochemistry (2003) from CUNY, and a BS in Chemistry (1997) from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka.

His research focuses on immunology and microbial pathogenesis, with expertise in biochemical mechanisms underpinning host-pathogen interactions. He has received notable awards including the 2011 Postdoctoral Scientific Achievement Award and a NIH T32 training grant (2008–2011).
