Thomas Wood is a Professor of Music at The College of Wooster, specializing in violin performance, chamber music, and music history. He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and teaches violin, viola, string methods, and music literature. His scholarly work focuses on Max Bruch, including critical editions of Bruch’s works, and he is currently researching Belgian violinist Jean-Baptiste Singelée’s opera fantasies.

Wood has performed as a soloist with orchestras such as the Wooster Symphony and Madison Symphony, and held roles as concertmaster in multiple regional orchestras.
As an educator, he emphasizes performance excellence and scholarly rigor. His work on Bruch’s concerto earned international recognition through N. Simrock Publishers. He remains active in chamber music, having studied under the Pro Arte and LaSalle Quartets.
