Prof. Dr. Thomas Welskopp (†) was a Professor of General History at the University of Bielefeld since October 2004, specializing in the history of modern societies. He led Subproject F03 in the SFB 1288 research initiative, focusing on comparative practices in supplier competition within the automotive industries of the US and Germany. His academic career included roles as Acting Chair at the University of Göttingen and Deputy Chair at the University of Zurich.
