Prof. Dr. Eleonora Rohland is a Professor of Entangled History of the Americas in the Pre-Modern Era at the University of Bielefeld. She holds affiliations with the Faculty of History, Philosophy, and Theology, the Center for InterAmerican Studies (CIAS), and serves as Deputy Director of the Center for Interdisciplinary Research (ZiF). Her research focuses on environmental and climate history, colonial entanglements, and disaster studies, with a particular emphasis on Latin America and the Caribbean. Rohland co-leads the CRC 1288 'Practices of Comparing' and the 'Anthropocene as Multiple Crisis' research group at CALAS. She earned her PhD from Ruhr University Bochum and has held roles as CIAS director and University Council member. Her work bridges historical analysis with interdisciplinary environmental science.
