Prof. Thomas Weiss is a Full Professor for Theoretical Nanophysics at the University of Graz since August 2021. Previously held positions include Apl. Professor at the University of Stuttgart (2020-2021), Junior Professor at Stuttgart/SCoPE (2013-2020), and postdoctoral research at the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light (2011-2013). His research focuses on enhancing light-matter interactions at nanoscale through theoretical modeling and numerical methods, with key interests in chiral nanophotonics, open resonators, and photonic quantum technologies.
Education:
- PhD (2008-2011): 'Advanced coordinate transformation methods in the Fourier modal method' (summa cum laude)
