Dr. Thomas Weetman serves as a Clinical Teaching Fellow in the Department of Public Health and Primary Care (PHPC) at the University of Cambridge and is affiliated with The Primary Care Unit (PCU). He concurrently works as a Registrar in Palliative Medicine while conducting academic research.
His educational background includes an undergraduate medical degree from King's College London, Foundation training at Bromley and Brighton, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education completed during his Foundation Year 3 (F3) as an Education Fellow at Eastbourne District General Hospital. He subsequently undertook Core Medical Training in Brighton.
Dr. Weetman's research centers on Medical Education, driven by his passion for teaching developed during his clinical fellowship. His work intersects with Palliative Medicine, Public Health, and Primary Care, reflecting the department's focus on community-oriented healthcare education and practice improvement.
As a Clinical Teaching Fellow, he contributes to the PHPC's educational programs for medical students and trainees, particularly within the GP Education Group framework that delivers clinical education across the East of England.
