معرفی
Thomas Wang, M.D., Ph.D., is the H. Marvin Pollard Collegiate Professor of Endoscopy Research at the University of Michigan, affiliated with the College of Engineering and School of Medicine. His work bridges engineering and medicine, focusing on advanced imaging technologies for early cancer detection. The Wang Lab is located in the Taubman Biomedical Sciences Research Building (BSRB), collaborating across disciplines to develop miniaturized imaging systems for gastrointestinal and hepatic applications. Research emphasizes molecular imaging in the digestive tract, liver, and pancreas, with a focus on cancer heterogeneity and targeted strategies.
Key areas include Bio-MEMS, microfluidics, and biomedical optics. Ongoing NIH-funded projects include development of peptide-based imaging probes and miniature endoscopic tools. His team actively participates in 6 national/international research programs, advancing translational research in early cancer detection and molecular diagnostics.
Current grants include NIH/NIBIB (P41 EB035084) for imaging center infrastructure and NIH/NCI (R01 CA285303) targeting hepatocellular carcinoma. The lab has pioneered technologies like dual-axis confocal microscopy and fluorescent peptide ligands for clinical translation.
Lab members collaborate across engineering and medical campuses, with a focus on bridging basic science and clinical application. The Wang Lab’s innovations aim to enhance diagnostic precision in gastrointestinal oncology and improve patient outcomes through real-time molecular imaging.
