معرفی
Thomas Voit is a Professor and Vice-Dean for Innovation and Enterprise at the Faculty of Population Health Sciences at University College London (UCL). As Director of the NIHR GOSH UCL Biomedical Research Centre, he leads translational research in developmental neurosciences and paediatrics. His career spans academic leadership roles at University Hospital Essen, Sorbonne University, and UCL, with a focus on neuromuscular disorders and gene therapy. He co-founded DINAQOR AG (2019) and three UK biotech companies, bridging academic research with clinical innovation.
Trained in paediatrics and neurology at Heidelberg/Mannheim, Düsseldorf, and Imperial College London, Voit has directed INSERM-CNRS-UPMC research centers and pioneered wearable sensor technologies for disease progression monitoring in Duchenne muscular dystrophy. His research integrates molecular mechanisms with clinical endpoints, emphasizing biomarkers like miRNAs and myostatin for therapy assessment.
Key areas include gene therapy for cardiomyopathies, immunological responses to dystrophin therapies, and digital health solutions for metabolic and neuromuscular disorders. His work has advanced closed-loop insulin systems for diabetes and developed novel miRNA-based diagnostic approaches in muscular dystrophies.
