Thomas Vienken

Prof. Dr. habil. Thomas Vienken is a Geologist and Professor for Geothermal Energy at Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences, TU Munich Campus Straubing for Biotechnology and Sustainability. He serves as Head of the 'Direct Push and hydrogeological measurement methods' field of research at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research - UFZ's Department of Monitoring and Exploration Technologies in Leipzig, Germany.

Dr. Vienken's research focuses on the development and application of high-resolution hydrogeological measurement methods using Direct Push technology. His work includes characterization of complex unconsolidated aquifers, shallow geothermal energy systems, and Managed Aquifer Recharge infrastructure.
