Dr. Thomas Stahlecker is a Senior Researcher and Head of the Business Unit 'Regional Innovation Dynamics and Knowledge Exchange' at the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI in Karlsruhe. He holds a Ph.D. in Economic Geography from the University of Stuttgart (2005) and has been with Fraunhofer ISI since 2000. His work focuses on regional innovation systems, policy evaluation, and knowledge transfer strategies. Key roles include coordinating projects on regional development strategies (e.g., TechnologieRegion Karlsruhe 2030) and analyzing innovation policy impacts across Germany and Europe.
Education: Technical University Aachen (RWTH) – Master's (1998); Doctorate at University of Stuttgart (2005) on 'Regional ties in the start-up and development process of knowledge-intensive service companies'.
