Thomas S. Stewart is an Instructor at The Ohio State University's Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership, part of the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences. He holds a B.S. in Communications and Education from Ohio State (1972). Prior to academia, he had a distinguished 25-year career in broadcasting, rising to General Manager and Vice President roles at WBNS Radio and WBNS-TV in Columbus. He later served as a senior executive in insurance boards, including Grange Mutual and Integrity Mutual, holding leadership roles such as non-Executive Chairman of the Board since 2010.
His professional biography includes extensive community involvement, including leadership roles at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, The Columbus Zoo, and United Way of Franklin County. He has been recognized for his teaching excellence, receiving the Price Teaching Award and the Distinguished Teaching by a Lecturer Award.
Stewart’s career spans communication, education, broadcasting, and nonprofit governance. His current teaching focuses on communication courses like Public Speaking and Public Relations. His community and corporate board leadership underscores his commitment to institutional development and community engagement.
