Dr. Thomas Quinn is an Associate Professor (Lecturer) in Sociology and Criminology at the University of Utah. He holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Utah and a Master's in Print Journalism from the University of Southern California. His research examines translation practices and vernacular development in early modern England, sound dimensions of literature, and relationships between popular and elite culture in Elizabethan society.
Research employs historical and textual analysis to understand cultural transmission and literary evolution. Current projects investigate oral performance traditions and their influence on literary forms during the English Renaissance. Dr. Quinn teaches courses in English Renaissance literature and cultural sociology.
