Thomas Mitchell

Thomas Mitchell is a Senior Lecturer in Sport Coaching at the Carnegie School of Sport, Leeds Beckett University, since April 2016. His research focuses on the lived experiences of youth and professional footballers, examining how organizational culture in professional football shapes identity development and transitions within and beyond the sport.

• Experience: 10+ years in professional football, 12 years in HE in FE sector, and performance coaching in professional squads

He is affiliated with the Centre for Child and Adolescent Physical Literacy and the Research Centre for Sport Coaching, contributing to global initiatives like developing free educational resources for youth sport coaches. His work strengthens collaborations with organizations such as Nike.
