Thomas M. Howard is an Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Rochester, where he joined in 2015. He holds a PhD in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University and dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rochester.
His research focuses on artificial intelligence, robotics, motion planning, and human-robot interaction, with specialization in optimizing decision-making models for complex environments. Professor Howard has taught courses in mechatronics, embedded systems, autonomous mobile robots, and robot control.
