Thomas M. Christensen

Thomas M. Christensen is a Professor of Physics at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs Department of Physics and Energy Science, where he has served since 1989. He has held multiple leadership roles including department chair, associate dean, dean, and currently Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. His work bridges experimental surface physics and science education initiatives.

• Ph.D. in Applied Physics, Cornell University (1985)

Dr. Christensen's research focuses on experimental surface physics and innovations in science education. He has secured over $2 million in grants, delivered 90+ scientific presentations, and taught 25 distinct courses spanning introductory to graduate levels. His academic contributions include co-directing the UCCSTeach program for future STEM educators.
