Dr. Thomas Müller is a Senior Academic Councillor and subproject leader at the University of Bielefeld, affiliated with the Faculty of Sociology, Department 4 - Politics and Society, and the Institute for World Society. He leads Subproject F05 Power Comparisons in Times of Global Political Change, 1970–2020 within the Collaborative Research Center 1288 Practices of Comparison. Ordering and Changing the World, while actively contributing to the Albert Group and BiSEd members network as an expert in arms race/arms control.

He has held continuous research roles at Bielefeld University since 2011, including Research Associate (2017-2020) and multiple Research Assistant positions (2011-2012, 2013-2014). His scholarship on power structures and security institutions demonstrates a sustained commitment to interdisciplinary analysis of global political systems. The German Academic Scholarship Foundation supported his doctoral studies from 2012 to 2015.
