Thomas Loimer is a Senior Scientist at the Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien), Austria, where he has held a position since 2002. Prior to this, he completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology's Department of Chemical Engineering (1998-2001) and worked in product development at Neusiedler AG (2001-2002).
He earned his PhD (Dr.techn.) from TU Wien (1994-1998) and his Dipl.-Ing. in Physical Engineering from the Technical University of Berlin (1984).
His research centers on Chemical Engineering phenomena, specifically vapor flow dynamics in porous membranes and bubble formation mechanisms, contributing to fundamental understanding in Fluid Dynamics and Membrane Technology. His work examines multiphase transport processes in structured porous media with implications for industrial separation systems.
His career recognition includes a prestigious Marie Curie fellowship (grant HPMF-CT-1999-00137) supporting his international post-doctoral research at the Technion.
