معرفی
Dr. Thomas Kreuzer is a Researcher in Physical Geography and Soil Science at the Institute of Geography and Geology, University of Würzburg, since 2021. Previously, he worked as a Research Associate at the University of Vechta (2018–2020) and Technical Employee (2015–2018). His research focuses on climate change impacts on geohazards, particularly landslides and rockfall, integrating spatial statistics, AI, and GIS. He leads and contributes to projects funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and German Research Foundation (DFG).
- PhD in Applied Physical Geography (2017–2022): Dissertation on Integrated landslide inventory systems and automation methods
- MSc in Applied Physical Geography (2015) with thesis on Critical slip surface search using Bézier curves
- BSc in Geography (2012) with thesis on Sedimentology of the Dunes de Biville
His research bridges landslide susceptibility mapping, slope stability modeling, and climate change adaptation, with a focus on Central European landscapes and Northwest Germany. Recent publications highlight AI-driven automation, quality criteria for data consistency, and meteorological triggers for geohazards.
Projects include:
- INCREASE (2021–2025): BMBF-funded subproject on geovisual analysis of geohazards
- LASLI (2020–2023): BMBF-funded landslides under climate change, associated role
He collaborates with institutions like Freie Universität Berlin and University of Vechta, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to natural hazard mitigation.
