Prof. Thomas Klug is a Professor of Violin, Chamber Music, and Chamber Orchestra at the University of the Arts Bremen since August 1997. He has been Concertmaster of the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen since 1985 and served as Music Director and Artistic Leader of Ensemble Resonanz from 1994 to 1996. His career includes international solo performances with orchestras such as the Westdeutsche Sinfonia and Chamber Orchestra of Cambridge, as well as chamber music collaborations with artists like Steven Isserlis and Joshua Bell. As a conductor, he has worked with the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie and ensembles specializing in contemporary music. He teaches violin, chamber music, and orchestral repertoire, leading courses like Orchesterstudien/Orchesterrepertoire (Violine) and chamber music ensembles. Recent events include performances at the Salzburger Festspielen and a violin studio concert in January 2025. Klug actively participates in university events like the Fête de la Musique open day, blending teaching with public musical engagement.
