Barbara Linke-Holicka

Barbara Linke-Holicka is a violist and lecturer at the University of the Arts Bremen, leading a viola studio class. Her professional career includes memberships in renowned orchestras such as the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, Lucerne Festival Orchestra, and Mahler Chamber Orchestra. She specializes in historical performance practices, Baroque viola, and German-Czech cultural musical and literary connections. She is also the artistic director of the Festival Musikalisch-literarische Tage in Rochlitz.

Education:

• Conservatory in Prague
• Studied under Prof. Kim Kashkashian at the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin
• Completed Solistenexamen with distinction under Prof. Wolfram Christ at the Music Academy Freiburg

Research & Performance Focus: Barbara Linke-Holicka actively explores German-Czech musical and literary ties, promotes cross-cultural understanding, and specializes in historically informed performance practices.
