Thomas Keymer is the Chancellor Henry N.R. Jackman University Professor of English at the University of Toronto, with affiliations to University College and Massey College. A leading scholar of Restoration, eighteenth-century, and Romantic-era British and Irish literature, his work spans

His research explores how censorship and legal constraints shaped literary creativity, as seen in his award-winning book Poetics of the Pillory.
