معرفی
Thomas Heide Clausen is a Professor at Ecole Polytechnique, France, leading the computer networking research group and directing the IoT Innovation and Management Master’s program. A graduate of Aalborg University (M.Sc., PhD), he previously developed OLSR at INRIA. His research focuses on future internet architectures, IoT, routing protocols, and smart grid technologies. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications (16,000+ citations) and contributed to 24 IETF standards, including work on IEEE 802.11s and ITU-T G.9903. Industrial collaborations include Hitachi, Fujitsu, and Cisco. He holds a Cisco-endowed chair in IoT and is an IEEE Senior Member and recipient of the 2021 IEEE Computer Society Distinguished Contributor award.
Academic roles include teaching core networking courses and advising PhD students. Recent work spans zero-trust architectures, load-aware load balancing (e.g., SHELL/P4), and reinforcement learning for data center optimization. Active in standardization bodies like IETF and ITU-T, he also engages in industry partnerships through projects like SOGrid and MODAL-IoT. His lab focuses on applied research, with projects like 6LB (segment routing-based load balancing) and Trickle algorithm analysis for sensor networks.
