Thomas Hawker-Dawson is the Brenda Hale Fellow in Law at Girton College and Affiliated Lecturer at the University of Cambridge's Faculty of Law. As Director of Studies for Law, his ESRC-funded PhD research investigates communicative aspects of punishment, sentencing as a 'teachable moment,' and penal legitimacy.
He teaches Criminal Law, Criminology, and Sentencing systems, with publications analyzing video-link sentencing and comparative penology. His fieldwork includes judicial observations in Crown Courts and prison education programs.
