Thomas Hare is the William Sauter LaPorte '28 Professor in Regional Studies at Princeton University, where he serves as Professor and Chair of Comparative Literature since 2001. He specializes in Japanese literature and drama through the 18th century, Buddhist cultural history, and ancient Egyptian writing systems.
