Thomas H. Chivens is a Lecturer IV and Undergraduate Advisor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Michigan. His research focuses on anthropological method and theory, undergraduate education innovation, technologies of policing and gender, and the politics of awareness in Poland and North America. He holds a B.A. in Anthropology and Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz (1994), a Certificate in Cultural Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (2004), and a Ph.D. in Anthropology from UNC Chapel Hill (2004).
