Thomas Goffrey is an Associate Professor at the University of Warwick’s Centre for Fusion, Space and Astrophysics. He teaches computational plasma physics (PX917) in the HetSys CDT and supervises projects optimizing laser profiles for inertial confinement fusion using the Freyja code.
Research integrates computational methods across plasma physics codes including EPOCH PIC (particle-in-cell), Odin (radiation-hydrodynamics), ECLIPS3D (exoplanets), LARE3D (coronal physics), and MUSIC (stellar physics). Focus areas include non-ideal MHD implementations and radiation transport algorithms.
