Thomas Garrity

Thomas Garrity is the Webster Atwell Class of 1921 Professor of Mathematics at Williams College. He has been affiliated with the Department of Mathematics and Statistics since 1989.

• Education: B.S. in Mathematics (1981) and B.A. in Philosophy (1981) from the University of Texas at Austin, Ph.D. from Brown University (1986).

Research Interests: Algebraic geometry, differential geometry, and number theory, with a focus on the Hermite problem and generalizations of continued fractions.

Affiliations: Has held visiting positions at the University of Washington (1992-93), University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (2000-01, 2012-13), and the Institut de Recherche en Informatique Fondamentale, Université de Paris (2016-17).
