Thomas Froese is a part-time Adjunct Lecturer in English at Redeemer University's School of Education. He combines academic work with a career as a newspaper columnist, writing extensively for The Hamilton Spectator. A graduate of the M.F.A. Creative Writing program at Seattle Pacific University (2012), his professional background spans 35 years in journalism and 15 years living in the Middle East and East Africa where he also taught literature.

His teaching focuses on writing fiction (ENG-303) and creative nonfiction. As a writer, he explores themes of travel, family life (including his "Daily Dad" blog), and cultural reflections through a global lens shaped by his experiences in the Arab World and East Africa. The family dog, Grace, also features in his storytelling repertoire.
Thomas has been recognized through awards for his journalism and served as keynote speaker at Redeemer University's Storymakers’ Symposium celebrating the Christian Courier's 70th anniversary.
